There is one prevalent, and to me, humorous, statement about Jewish people that believe in Yeshua.

I have heard it and read it so many times.  That statement is "You cannot be Jewish and believe in Yeshua."

What is Jewish?  It is a race and a religion.

Let's start with race.   How can someone's race be changed because of their opinion on a certain subject.  Can you see how mashuganah that thought is?  Okay.  We agree. Nu?

So, Jewish people that believe in Yeshua, cannot become anything other than Jewish racially.  Right?

Now let's tackle the religion issue.  Can a person be Jewish by race and not by religion? Of course! There are, unfortunately,  people with Jewish blood that are homosexual,  atheist, and participators in various New Age type activities.  Are they of the Jewish race? Yes.  Are they Jewish by religion?   Well, if you define religion as being the expression of belief in and reverence for a superhuman power recognized as the creator and governor of the universe, these people are not Jewish.  The foundation of our Jewish religion is the Torah.  Homosexuals, atheists, and New Age participants cannot be defined as allowing the G-d of Israel to be their Lord.  They can only give lip service.  But he is not their exclusive Lord.   If they desire a change,  they  may ask for and receive his help to change, but until they do that they cannot be honestly considered Jewish by religion.

Okay, let me get your attention here.  NOT ALL PEOPLE THAT CALL THEMSELVES MESSIANIC JEWS ARE THE SAME!  Okay, you can turn your volume back down now, but I hope you heard me loud and clear!

There are certain Jewish people that come to believe that Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah and have no propensity to follow Torah, celebrate Jewish holidays, or raise their kids Jewish, They cut themselves off from the Jewish community completely.  They take on all of the Christian holidays, customs and traditions.  Are they Jewish by religion?  They are in my opinion not Jewish in religion.

But there are many, many Jewish people that have come to believe that Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel.  They call him Yeshua, because that is his name.  In English he may be called Jesus or in Russian Ee-soos, but his name is Yeshua.  These Jewish believers have a strong desire to follow Torah, celebrate Jewish holidays, raise their kids Jewish, and they have not cut themselves off from the Jewish community.  They have not taken on any of the Christian holidays, customs or traditions.  Are they Jewish by religion.  Of course they are.

Okay, we have gotten over that hurdle!   Would you like to know more?

Maybe it is time for you to ask the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob if Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel!
