There was a time in which we Jewish people were forced to assimilate. In the Former Soviet Union I have seen that many Jewish people tried to assimilate so successfully that some of their children and grandchildren are having a hard time proving they are Jewish in order to make aliyah. It’s interesting that in modern times it is kind of the opposite of what happened in the days of the days of Judah Macabee.  Instead of Greeks trying to force Jews to become Goys. Now, some Jewish leaders are joining hand in hand, sometimes unknowingly, with Christians leaders ,in forcing Jews to become assimilated into Gentile cultures. How do they do that? Well, by telling Jewish people, many of whose mother and father are both Jewish, that they are not Jewish anymore because they have come to understand that Yeshua is the Messiah. Sounds strange, huh? Well in both cases, whether Jewish or Christian, when they say that to a Jewish person, they are denying what they know is absolute history. You see, when Yeshua was here on earth his followers were Jewish.  The first believers in Yeshua and most of the authors of the New Testament were Jewish. They were neither part of a new religion nor did they start one. That happened later when Gentiles also began to believe that Yeshua was the Messiah of Israel. Now There are hundreds of Messianic Synagogues all over the world!  (Did you know Messianic Judaism [Jews believing in Yeshua] is over 1500 years older than Hassidim) What is a Messianic Synagogue? A place the Macabees would have loved! A place that a Jewish person, who wishes to remain Jewish regardless of his belief about Yeshua can come and participate in celebrating his Jewishness with Jewish music and dance and learn about the Torah and Jewish tradition without being forced to assimilate in a Gentile culture as the Greeks tried to do to in the time of the Macabees. Visit your local Messianic Synagogue this Shabbat.

And until then, isn't it time you asked the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob if Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel?
